My name is Sandy Ward and I am the County Director for Grenada and Montgomery Counties as part of the Mississippi History and Genealogy Network. I originally moved from the Chicago area to Grenada, Mississippi when I married my husband in the early 1980's. |
We later bought a small parcel of land in Montgomery County where we built the home we still live in today. I have very strong ties to both counties and while I am not from Mississippi originally, I have lived south of the Mason-Dixon line for almost 30 years! What is so funny is my great-great grandfather was in this area 100 years before me as part of an Indiana Regiment fighting in the Civil War.
I have big expectations for the Grenada County website and appreciate any comments, suggestions or donations of information. While I do live in this area and am more than happy to do research, since I work out of my home and go to school full-time, I have only certain times that I can actually get to the courthouse or library to do research so please be patient when making requests.
Thanks and I look forward to serving you!

Ward Family Vacations - a few of our bigger trips. |
| My daughter married a Kiwi and lived in New Zealand for five years until they moved back to the States almost a year ago hence several vacations to visit. My husband always tells the kids that he had to go 1,000 miles to find me; our daughter went 10,000 miles to find her spouse; and if our son follows family tradition, since he is a physics/astronomy major we figure he will go to another planet to find his! |
