My name is Sandy Ward and I am the County Director for Grenada County, part of the Mississippi History and Genealogy Network. I live in Montgomery County which adjoins Grenada and have strong ties to this area. It will take me some time to see what information is available for Grenada County and get it posted here. If you have any information you would like to donate to the site or suggestions for information you would like to see, please let me know. My goal is to help those researching their roots in Grenada, so please check back as I build this site and add new information. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks! Sandy Ward

Grenada County is located half way between Memphis, Tennessee and the State capital in Jackson, Mississippi. Grenada is surrounded by Yalobusha and Tallahatchie counties to the North, Calhoun and Webster to the East, Montgomery and Carroll to the South and Leflore county to the West. Those researching for their ancestors in this area should remember that since the actual county of Grenada was not formed until 1870, many early records will be in these surrounding counties.
